It’s been said that motorcyclists are free spirits.  But in order to be truly free, one must first be a responsible adult.  That’s how I felt when I recently completed the two and one half day, Grays Harbor Motorcycle Education, LLC course in Aberdeen, WA.

It’s a “no brainer” that wise choices create untold benefits, while porr choices often result in unfortunate consequences.  Making a poor choice on a motorcycle can be painful, life changing, or fatal.

Knowledge and shill are also fundamental to any successful endeavor.  At GHME, LLC I was given the knowledge to recognize unforeseen hazards and the basic skills by which to cope with situations that are unavoidable.

This program is designed for both the novice and experienced rider alike.  The riding experience in my group of four women and eight men ranged from over twenty years to none at all.  One young lady, who had never been on a bike before, out rode us all.

We had fun.  But don’t misunderstand me.  This is a no nonsense program.  When I didn’t pay attention, I heard about it.  If I didn’t follow directions, I heard about that too.  Safety was the order of the day and if I was seated on a motorcycle, then one of the Rider Coaches was watching me.  I found this really annoying at first, but soon got over it.

With an equal measure of encouragement and criticism, Rider Coaches Rick Jenkins and Gwen “the Goddess” Falls brought the group along quickly.  I can’t give enough credit to these two individuals.  Their dedication was obvious and their performance flawless.  It was a privilege to meet them.

So make the responsible choice and challenge yourself to complete this course.  It will enhance the motorcycle experience and may just save your life.  And remember, all you have to do is show up, pay attention, and follow directions.  Rick and Gwen will do the rest.

Have Fun and Ride Safely,
