God Watching From Above

Sifting through the rubble,
with God watching from above;
Gathered with his Angels,
carried there on wings of Doves.

The sorrow in his eyes,
looking down with his bowed head;
He can see all the heartache in the living,
for their dead.

If he could have just protected them,
harm did not come their way;
Would we have been believers then,
if God had "saved the day"?

It seems that God is neutral,
when planting all his seeds;
He doesn't pick the flowers,
nor sift out all the weeds.

The test of time seems yet the same,
the devil's always there;
The innocents that suffer so,
he knows it seems unfair.

The Nation watched in horror,
that frightful summer day;
Wondering with so much sadness,
will it always be this way.

As long as there are people,
ignoring Gods true law;
Our lives will be threatened,
by repeats of terror we all saw.

We'll pray for our own country,
as well as other countries great;
We'll pray for so much love to give,
while eliminating hate.

If we all dig really deeply,
search our hearts for strength and love;
We just might put a smile back on God,
watching from above.
