#1 shows last years picture of the erosion on
the west side of Half Moon Bay. In the mid-left hand side of the picture( at
9:00 o'clock) it shows a clump of Marram grass. Notice that there is land
between the grass and eroded bank.
#2 is today's picture 11/15/01. In the center of the picture is a clump of
Marram grass on the bank of the current erosion. The new erosion encroachment is
about 20' to 30' as I remember it from keeping track of it this summer as we
walked the beach.
The interesting thing is that the erosion is a much larger area now as it is
stretching out laterally on both sides of last years more localized event.
