There were very few seats open for today's meeting....great turnout. We honored September birthday lions: Mike Sand, Ray Pumphrey, George Reay and LuAnn Mericer.
Kay Rotter, President and Ron Larson, Secretary, of the Clearwater / Klaloch Lions Club made a visitation to our Club today. President Kay presented our King Lion Dean with the "Traveling Gavel", a program instituted by our Zone Chairman to promote Lions visitations.

Lion Ken Johnson brought a guest today, his son Bob. Bob has moved back to Hoquiam and is working in the family business. Perhaps we can persuade him to join our Club?

Our speaker for today was a former Hoquiam Lions Club Student of the Month and is soon to be the Mayor of Hoquiam....Jack Durney. Jack's remarks were not of a political nature, but rather about the City of Hoquiam and what has been accomplished over the years. He also shared his personal desires for what he would like to see accomplished in the future. He feels that with the pride and talent that the citizens of Hoquiam possess, only better things will happen in the future.
da Pot - It wasn't the "Lion King" but rather the "Lion Chief" (Hoquiam Fire Chief) Lion Ray Pumphrey, whose name was drawn today.
