Heard about this page, couldn't wait to visit it. Great job. I enjoyed
reading all about all the former class mates. I've been with the Hoquiam
branch of The Bank of Grays Harbor for 10 yrs now and 18 years with the
Bank of Grays Harbor altogether working at various positions. I'm having
the time of my life now that all three kids are grown and I have so much
free time to do the things that I want to do. I have done a lot of traveling
this past year - Puerto Vallarta, Aspen, Kona, St Louis - but it's always
nice to come HOME. I graduated with the CLASS of 1966 and look forward
to reading more about my classmates. Thanks for this opportunity to share
a little with old friends.

I think this web site is a great idea. It shows a real effert is being
made by people to stay in touch with there roots, classmates and friends.
I know how is it is to start to drift apart. Me I joined the army and am
stationed over seas so I find my self thinking about my old friends and
classmates more and more. I miss seeing my old friends a nd classmates
as well as well as the places I use to go with them . When I was in high
school I took seeing them everyday for grated now that I am so far away
I miss seeing them. I may have new friends now but I will always do my
best to try and remember the old ones, and where they are and how they
are doing now. Well I gotta go My hour on the computer is up.

Hello to all Classmates of "72". I just read through the guestbook
and it brought back memories, and it wasn't that bad back then. We were
lucky.. I have 2 children 17 and 19 and recently divorced. I work for a
major computer company which keeps me busy. I miss the harbor very much
as when you don't get any rain, you miss it. I would love to hear from
all of my old friends...and thank you Kathy for the opportunity of having

GREAT IDEA!!! YES, I AM LIVING IN BOBCAT COUNTRY. Have 2 children,
ages 13 and 10. The oldest being a serious Bobcat, the youngest still wanting
to make Mom happy by loving those Grizzlies! I consider myself awfully
lucky to have grown up with Grizzly Pride and still surrounded by family
members who feel the same. In fact, several years ago my youngest sister
found the Grizzly mascot that had been stuffed away for many years at HHS.
We had her wear it with pride at a basketball game. Hard to do for a 35
year old woman. It's true, once a Grizzly always a Grizzly!!!

Thanks to Janet Sleasman Johnson I heard about this and because of

some familiar names. I graduated in 1959, have two daughters and one son.
I married a career Navy man who retired after 30 years so we moved around
a bit. We bought a home in Bremerton in 1980 and returned there when my
husband retired. He was a manager at a Honda dealership until January of
this year when we hit the road in our motorhome for the next 2 years. We
have our mail forwarded thru our daughter in Tacoma, WA. Would love to
hear from anyone. Hope to chat online sometime.

The Class of '69 reunion July 23 & 24, 1999 was the greatest! It
was so nice to see so many of my classmates and their spouses...sure wish
more had attended. It was nice to get to meet Kathy, the creator of this
site...thanks for your hard work here! Hopefully the 35th reuniion will
have more of us in attendance...even Fast Bucks Eddie who is sort of an
honorary graduate of the class of '69! You are the best, Ed! Let's try
to make the 35th reunion the biggest & best ever! So much time and
effort is put into each reuniion by the reunion committee (and their spouses,
too! Gail Quigg worked so hard on our book!)they are really amazing. Thanks
to each of them for everything they have done over the years to keep us
all in touch across time and miles...old friendships are really special!

This is, indeed, a great site as many have commented. I left the Hoquiam
area soon after graduating in 1964 when I joined the Air Force during the
height of the Vietnam war. Served tours of duty in Philippines and Italy.
I left the Air Force in 1969 and immediately entered the broadcasting business.
I worked for six years as an announcer/disc jockey at various radio stations
around the Pacific Northwest. I gravitated into broadcast engineering and
eventually came to a Seattle-area TV station where I have been now going
on some 21 years. Married 25 years and have 0 wonderful kids. My wife and
I have traveled the world from China to England. This web site is greeat

something on ICQ? Send me email. Stay in touch. BTW any news of a 35th

Calling all 1960 HHS grads. We are having a get together on the 1st
of August at the Hoquiam Stadium (All Star Game) and then after the game
we will have lunch. Everyone is invited to the game. According to Ken Lundeen
the cost of the game is a donation. (Would someone e-mail me and tell me
the time of the game). Track meets are done for a few months and the gang
that gets together each month for lunch in Oly thought it would be nice
to have a get together and talk about when we were wild and young. But
of couse Lanny is still wild but older. I am not sure if he is wiser or
not. Kathie still a great home page and hope by the time our class reunion
comes around next year, we will have more people on the 1960 space on the
home front. Also if anyone wants to come to the luncheons that we have
each month, just send me a e-mail and I will put your name on the list.
We usually have 5 to 10 people each month. Kathie again keep up the good
work, it is really a lot of fun coming home each day and turning on the
computer to read the comments that are submitted.

Great Web Site. It's great to see familiar names from Hoquiam, coming

However I did do some time with the Boeing Defense side of the house for

Kathie, This website is great! What a great way to catch up on all
of the gossip. I've found out about alot of people that I normally don't
hear about. Hoquiam is a great place to be from and grow-up in. There is
nothing else in the world like the secure feeling you get from growing
up in a small town. My son and I have been living in Portland, OR for the
last 6 months. Previously we had lived in Bend, OR for 9 years. Quite a
climate difference! There are a few people from Hoquiam living over in
the Central Oregon area. Portland has alot of family for us to enjoy and
we aren't that far from Hoquiam. I still have some family still there.
We try to get up that way at least once or twice a year. I'll be sure to

Everyone seems to agree on one thing, what a great page. Thank you
for having the vision of a page that every "Grizzly" can appreciate. It's
no great surprise that we rule the Northwest in spirit and hometown values.
My class (class of 63) and all the other classes stand in front while our
friends across Myrtle Street wonder, "HOW'D THEY DO THAT". Thanks again,

Your web site is a great place to visit! I left Hoquiam in 1984 for

I have been home only twice since 1984. The last time was November 1987.
I do miss everything about home, especially the people. This web-site brings
home closer. Hope to hear from "old" classmates. Class of '84. Home address:

Hello to Grizzley alums. My name is Margaret (Murphy)Bare from class
of "50. Decided to revisit this page after receiving an E Mail from classmate
Marian Gary Nordlund It would be so much fun to run into other classmates
electronically speaking on these pages. Maybe its none of my business but
I would really like to hear about what you have been doing these past 49
years and what you are doing now. Today is my birthday and I feel like
my greatest accomplishment at the moment is that I've reached age 66 in
reasonably good health and sound mind(also reasonably). My other greatest
accomplishment is having raised 5 wonderful children who have done me proud.
Would like to amaze my classmates fromMr. Kramer's Spanish classes that
I am totally bilingual in Spanish and nearly so in French Will keep checking
in to see who else has found their way here.

My name is Marian Gary Nordlund, class of 1950. I just learned of this
great page. When I added my name to the register yesterday, surprisingly,
there were no others from my class. I'm lucky to have two sons that pushed
me into computer life and, amazing to me, I now enjoy it very much. Steve
and Brian (Nordlund), classes of 1977 and 1981, still bail me out of trouble
since I'm a slower learner than Brian's 5 year old. I hope others from
my class will somehow find their way here too and send me an e-mail. The
millinium year 2000 will find our class celebrating our BIG 50th reunion!

Hi all you old grizzlies. Even after all these years, we still cling
to that old mascot like it was part of our heritage. So many of us have
moved miles away, but that old hometown reigns us back in whenever high
school memories sneak up on us. No matter how successful or dismal your
life may have turned out, we all share that unique time in our lives when
we grew as grizzlies. You can try to escape it, deny it, or revel in it,
doesn't matter. You're a mighty grizzly for life. I hope my party hearty
classmates from 1970 log on with your email address so we can get ready
for the "reunion of the century" in the year 2000.

After looking at the class of 1968 and all the names that have been
added to the list, I guess it is about time that I start contacting all
of the members of 1960 and get them on the list. I cannot let my sister's
and cousin class out due the great class of 1960. I get down to the Hoquiam
area about once a month, but right now is the busy season for track Lanny
and I are doing the JO's in Seattle next week and then home for a week
and then off to Eugene for the world games for two weeks. I thought when
I retired it would be easier, but still living by the calendar. I hope
that the class of 1960 will start putting their names in the book, since
in about 2 years we will have our 40th class reunion. Keep up the great
work Katie and remind everyone that we can chat in the chat room each night,

How did everyone but me get so old! Joke. The committee that did all the
work needs to be congratulated. I will nelp next time. The music added
alot. What a nice bunch of people. I wish we could combine several years
together. There are lots of people I would like to see younger and older
than me. I live in Seattle and love the city. I also appreciate Hoquiam
each time I come home. I love the way you can walk down the middle of the
street. I love the way it is quiet. I love the way everyone is so friendly
and down to earth and SLOW. I don't know what I will do when I don't have

I was so pleased to discover this page. I am eagerly counting the days
until my return to Hoquiam (May 13, 1998). I have been away for almost
eight years now and I've missed the soft serenity of the town a million
times. It will be great to see familiar faces and hear friendly voices.
My journeys to Los Angeles and The District of Columbia and Miami have
educated me in ways unspeakable (both good and bad). But I've grown tired
of the rush-rush nature of the city. I am weary of the constant noise.
The time has come for me to be around family and friends. The time has
come for me to return to the town that raised me and share with it the
things I've learned during my travels. I eagerly await you, Hoquiam. And
I do so on pins and needles.

Kathie: hope you are enjoying the jokes that have been sent your way.
Would love to hear from classmates from 1960. By the way I did make a mistake
on my last message that Lanny Dowell lived in Silverdale, and he did correct
me, he lives in Bremerton, sorry about that Lanny. GO COUGS. Come apple
cup time little doggies are going down in defeat. Will let you all know
if I win the election in November. I guess maybe I should win since no
one is running against me. Go Grizzlies. Anyone sees my brother Milt tell
him I said hello, that also goes for my sister Sherri. Take care and it
is good to come back to Hoquiam and see all of the comments that have been
made. Keep up the good work

Enjoyed your page. My wife and I retired two years ago to pursue all
those things that we did not have time for in the "work-a-day" world. My
teaching/coaching career spawned a great opportunity in the local media
where I do radio/TV sports. We also officiate track and field, which has
given us the opportunity to stay close to this great sport and travel to
places like South Africa. We'll return.

Hi! Thanks for the email about your site. Very nice. I am class of
'56', also from the old high school. My mother, my sister (Sheila Swanson
Johnson - she's on your alumni list), and I all graduated from there. I
moved to San Jose in 1958, so I've been gone for a long time. I have visited
and gone to several reunions over the years, however. I was all set to
go to my 40th reunion last year but decided to do something else that I
thought would be more fun. But it wasn't. Big mistake. I should have gone
to the reunion. I only have one relative left up there now (my Aunt Fleeta
in South Aberdeen), so there is not so much of a push to visit. If anybody
out there recognizes me, give me a beep. I don't have a computer at home,
so I spend a lot of after-hours time at work, and they don't seem to mind.

Kathie: Great home page. I live in a little town just south of Chehalis
called Napavine which by the way is the fastest growing city in Lewis County.
I am now retired from the Navy and State Government and in my spare time
Chairman of Lewis County Law and Justice, Crime Stoppers, VFW and now running
(unopposed) for city counsel. Also I am a U.S. Track and Field Official
along with Lanny Dowell who lives in Silverdale, Wa. I still try to make
