This is truely a great site. I've visited often to see lots of familier names. I am now retired and enjoying it to the fullest. My husband and I are very envolved with our local community police force as active volenteers in the citizens on patrol. I truely encourage everyone to join in and do your communities a real service and donate a little of your time. My best to all of my friends there in Hoquiam. Happy New Year. 1966

To all those who have passed thru the halls of Hoquiam High School greeting. The class of 62 was a good one as you will say about your own year. That is what is so great about the fond memories we have of those time. After 20 years in the US Navy and the other adventures that followed I am doing well and do enjoy life. Feel free to write if you are up to it have a great day.

I love this site and I am glad I came across it. I married the love of my life in 1988 and I have two wonderful daughters, 15 and 13. We live in Spanaway so my oldest daughter is a Spanaway Lake High Sentiel, but I will always have pride for HHS. I would love to hear from anyone. Please e-mail me at tammydbb@aol.com. I do get homesick from time to time so when I do I usually call my brother, Duane, or my nephew, Danny. Both still reside in Hoquiam. I am just learning my way around on the computer so it was by shear accident that I stubbled upon this site. Great Job! Class of 1977

I graduated in 1993 from HHS. I hated school back then. I left the Hoquiam area in late 1996 and decided to continue my education. I received my BA in 1999 and worked as technical writer at a healthcare insurance company. I recently opened my own business in massage and aromatherapy. I now have a nine year old daughter, Daryn and a two month old son, Jack. I married on July 25 of 2003 to a beautiful Irishman that I met at work. We bought a three bedroom house in upscale Everett area and plan to build a house within the next three years. I recently went down to Aberdeen to visit some family members and didn't see anybody I know but it was nice to see the ocean and some of the old buildings torn down. I don't miss highschool but I do miss some of the friends (you know who you are). Good site!!! Mrs. Duffy

Fun to check in on HHS. 'Twas a fun place to be in '88-91. Sometimes you just want to see a name of someone you knew years ago. Makes me grin. Any photo of big trees or a mountain makes me "homesick" even after 12 years!

Kathy, I wanted to tell you how much I've enjoyed reading the different comments from classmates who are looking for other classmates or just sharing their thoughts and facts about what they are doing today. I attended my 30 year class reunion this summer and had a great time. I realized that there were several people I wished that I had stayed in contact with. Life gets so busy and in the way at times, it's easy to lose touch with people. I'm still in Hoquiam and love the area. I've been struggling with the idea of moving but not sure if that's what I want to do. I'm divorced and ready to try some new things in my life. I have a wonderful daughter who is 21 and a senior at WWU. I work for WSU in Aberdeen in a scholarship program. I've been fortunate that I've had several opportunities to travel outside the area but I do like home. After the recent class reunion I've decided to get a group of people together in November to just visit and do some more catching up. If there are classmates out there that are interested send me a email. Hey everyone should attend the alumi dance in November:0) Looking forward to hearing from fellow classmates or friends from other classes. Linda Springer

Thank god I got out of that town. I am saddend to still find proof that it wasn't just a bad dream. How can you love a town full of loggers, drunks and "jocks" I have never been so happy as when I left and found out that the world was not like that. People have community spirit, no, hoquiam and aberdeen do not. If they did, all of those beautiful buldings would not have been torn down, they would have been restored to show what a wonderful history that town had, there would not be people living in those awful houses that have mold growing on the roofs, if you live there you know what I'm talking about. And you would realize that just because you live on a hill doesn't mean that you are any better than that drunk who lives at the bottom. Look around, how many times have you seen "the watch man" and not even stopped to say hi? Is he less a person because his brain doesn't function right? Like I said before, Thank god I'm out of that hell hole of a "town"

I was in the class of 1988, not a popuar student but my memories of HHS are always so vivid and full of enjoyment for my 4 kids. This site is wonderful. I get to the harbor about twice a month and love telling stories and showing off a great school to my kids.

I just dropped by to see how things were going and read a few items from some other members of the class of 55. I have renewed some old friendships on line with Marlene Durney Johnson, Emery Haggin, Phyliss Nelson Hopper, Bonita McEvoy Roberts, Doris Hart-Haggin & husband Bill, Jean Lillybridge Fairbairn, Jean Coston and George L. Daniel,III, just to name a few. It's been great and hope to visit more than a few of them when I retire next year. Hope to see you all at our 50th reunion in 2005. Myron @ rayJanuary@hotmail.com

WHAT A GREAT SITE! TIM MCCOWAN IS DOING HIS BEST TO GET THE CLASS OF 75 SIGNED UP AND I HOPE TO SEE MORE OF US ON THE ROSTER EVERYDAY. THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORTS KATHY, I ENJOY READING THE GUESTBOOK AND SEEING FAMILIAR NAMES. HOQUIAM IS A GREAT PLACE TO BE. I'VE TRAVELLED NEAR AND FAR AND I ALWAYS SAY THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME. I MOVED TO HOQUIAM FROM OHIO IN THE 9TH GRADE AND COULD NOT WAIT TO GET OUT OF THIS RAINY PLACE. WELL, I GRADUATED IN 75 AND LATER MOVED AWAY FOR ONE YEAR. I MOVED BACK AND NO MATTER WHERE I GO I'M ALWAYS GLAD TO GET BACK TO ALL THIS BEAUTIFUL GREEN. I GUESS IT JUST TOOK ME AWHILE TO GET USED TO THE RAIN AND APPRECIATE WHAT WE HAVE HERE. THE 25 YEAR REUNION WAS SUCH FUN AND IT WAS GOOD TO SEE PEOPLE THAT I HADN'T SEEN SINCE HIGHSCHOOL. I'M LIVING IN ABERDEEN AND WORKING AT THE GRAYS HARBOR LOG SCALING BUREAU IN HOQUIAM. I CAN HEAR THE BOBCAT GAMES FROM MY HOUSE ON BENCH DRIVE BUT I AM STILL A GRIZZLY. WHEN I DRIVE BY THE ABERDEEN FIELD SOMETIMES I'LL ROLL DOWN MY WINDOW AND YELL "GO GRIZZLIES" JUST FOR FUN. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT THIS SITE AND FIND OLD FRIENDS. MAUREEN MORTIMER CLASS OF 1975

I was searching the web & found this sight. I graduated in 1993. I moved away from Hoquiam a few years after that & I have lost touch with all of my close friends. I am sure you are out there living it up! It is nice to see Hoquiam on the net! I am very busy with my 5 year old daughter Daryn. It has been nice to get away from Hoquiam to learn & grow, but I do miss some of the people I grew up with. Anyway, I am all grown up now so if any of my friends (u would know who you are) happen to see this, then email me.

I absolutely love coming here and reading the memories of all the HHS alumni. As you read all these testimonials from classmates spanning years from the 1940's thru the 90's the message is crystal clear..Hoquiam was and obviously still is..a great place to grow up!!!! Even though I haven't lived there for over 25 years, the memories still linger as if it was yesterday. THANK YOU Kathy for this website, for keeping the Hoquiam Spirit alive and for giving us who have moved away a home to come back to. I want to say HI to my cousin Randy...who I happened to have found via this website..we didn't know each other until we stumbled on one another here...isn't that something?! Keep up the great job! If anyone from my class sees this...write to me..I would love to hear from you!!
