Jean Walters Gayle is a psychotherapist in private practice in Aberdeen, Washington. This book was planned for many years. She was aided by the letters her mother and grandmother had saved from her time in Germany and by Princess Fugger (pronounced "fooger") and Countess Clary. She was a professional photographer in Europe and most of the pictures in the book are hers. Jean has three horses, warm bloods, at her five acre home. She has enjoyed a very active life including her professional career and she continues to have an interest in her community. Jean is a collector of antique bridle rosettes, museum quality horse bits and Meissen porcelain. Jean has also written articles about the rosettes, college life, and other items of interest that have been published in various magazines. She hopes to write another book about her father's fishing resort, Rancho Buena Vista in Baja California Sur, Mexico.
