Community Space and Cyberspace - What's the
Connection?
InFocus was a co-sponsor for the sixth
Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility DIAC ("Directions and
Implications of Advanced Computing") conference. In their words, "The . . .
conference will be an exciting mix of informative and provocative presentations
and hands-on workshops. We will be discussing the significance of the new
communication technology from the standpoint of children, education, the
economy and jobs, social action, and civic and cultural values."
Howard Rheingold, author of Virtual Reality, The Virtual
Community, and former editor of The Whole Earth Review was the
keynote speaker.
