IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I William Crumly being weak in body but of perfect
mind and memory praises be therefor given to Almighty God I do make
constitute and ordain this my last wil1 and Testament in manner & form
following first and principally I recommend my Soul unto the hands of
Almighty God who gave it hoping through the Merits death and profession of
Jesus Christ my Soverign and Savor to obtain Remission of all my sins and to
inherit everlasting life and my Body to the Earth from whence it came to be
decently buryed at the discretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned and as
touching the Disposition of all such worldly Estate as it has pleased
Almighty God to bestow upon me I leve and bequeath as follows First I will
that all my just debts and funeral charges be fully paid and discharged Item
I will that the Plantation which I purchased of my Brother John Crumly to be
Sold by my Executors to the best advantage so as to make payments for the
Same But not to be given to the purchaser till the Twenty Sixth March in the
year of our Lord seven hundred and ninety five which is the expiration of
John Antrams Lease upon it and when my executors do receive the whole of the
purchase money for the said land they shall give to each of my children that
is come of age the sum of Ten Pounds good and lawfu1 money Item I leave to
my loving wife Sarah Crumly all the rest and residue of my estate both rail
and personal during life or whilst she remains my widdow and my will is That
my widdow Sarah Crumly shall Rays my children together to give them learning
out of the profits that arises from my estate, the boys to read write &
cifer The Girls to read and write and not to diminish any part of the
childrens devidend thereby If the profits should be sufficient to maintain
them and to give them their learning and my will is that if my widdow sees
cause to alter her state and marry that my whole estate be sold and after
deducting for raising and schooling my young children and paying and
discharging all debts she have one third part of my whole estate the other
two parts to be equally divided among my fifteen children after ading to
each what they already have received, namely, James Ann William Cateron
[Catharine] Aaron Jane Thomas Sarah Henry Nancy [Mary] Stephen Elizabeth
John Martha and Rebecca and if either of them should depart this life before
they arrive of age their part to be equally divided amongst all my surviving
children And my will is if my wife Sarah Crumly remain a widdow Till death
then the whole of my estate to be divided as before mentioned LASTLY I
constitute ordain and appoint my good friend David Faulkner together with my
well beloved wife Sarah Crumly Executors of this my last will and testament
hereby revoking disannulling and making void all other wills testaments or
Legacies heretofore made ordained or appointed ratifying & confirming this
and this only to be my last will and testament in the presence of these
Witnesses This 30 day of September in the year of our Lord 1792

At a Court held for Berkeley County the 17th day of September 1793 This last
will and testament of William Curmly, Dec'd, was proven by the oaths of
William wilson, William Watson, Senr. William Doster and Jesse Rubell the
witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of David
Faulkner and Sarah Crumly the executors therin named who made oath therto
according to law Certificate is granted them for obtaining a Probate thereof
they giving Security Whereupon they with Thomas Faulkner and John Watson,
entered into and acknowledged bond in the penalty of one thousand pounds
conditioned for their true and faithful administration of said Estate.
