Looking into the pond and Goldie was looking right back up at me. I began my nightly conversation with her.

Quietly I began: "We have a system of Government where we elect a President and Representatives. The two parties are supposedly have different agendas. One side is Stating they are going to downsize Government, Abolish Abortion, and decrease spending, by electing people of like minds. The other wants to increase taxes, to spend more on social issues, increase personal freedom and put their representative in power."

"Abortion?":asked Goldie. "You have a funny way of controlling your population!". "We believe in giving birth to lots and lots of babies. Lots of babies in the pond means the parents never go hungry!"

"So you think preying on babies is a better way?" : I asked

" When they are little they look like mosquito larvae. By eating the slow and the not so bright ones, it guarantee’s that the smartest, the quickest, and the strongest survive!" :She replied unblinkingly. "Why would you want inferior fish swimming around? Think of all the accomplishments, we have achieved!"

"Wait a minute Goldie! I do not see any tools or buildings or airplanes in your world!" :I shot back.

"On contraries we do so!" :She did not blink when she spoke.

I tossed some food into the water and she happily nibbled it down.

"We travel the world by airplanes silly. Our scientists have worked diligently over the years to have other beings do our bidding!" :She flicked her fins seductively.

"Rubbish !" :I exclaimed and tossed her some more fish food.

"It seems you doubt me! Our species traveled the globe, charted rivers, long before your kind even figured how to drift down stream. Your people even name stars after us. By the way, why do you call every one by a different name??" :She asked.

"We name people and things differently so everyone knows who we are talking to..." :Some how I knew I was being baited.

"What a waste of time! If the other does not have the courtesy or interest to look at you when you speak why waste your time talking to them? They certainly will not accept what you are saying. I would never have time to name all my children or ever learn some of the names of my friends children's names even if they had them. It is so much easier and more polite to swim over and talk to them." :She looked at me a bit puzzled.

"OK let me get this straight, you believe in Right to life, You are against Abortion, be friendly, but don't bother to learn their name. Euthanasia is a way of population control, cultural advancement is mind-control of others? "

She looked up at me with her big dark eyes and smiled: "Isn’t the goal of all of us, to be the biggest fish in the pond! " turned and swam off into the depths of my pond.
